Beale Street Barber Shop is a cool little shop to get your chop on, located in Peekskill, NY, that styles itself rocka-billy, honky-tonk, and all that jazz. While I dont care for the music that resounds from within, ie Sinatra, Elvis, etc, that’s OK. The owner Mark, and stylist Mary, are very friendly folk, indeed, and Mark is a musician in his own right. Today, I showed up to liven my hair up a bit. I had a patch of green put in the front, and Mary did a wonderful job! I’ve been very pleased with the work they do here, overall, with past haircuts etc. She did a great job of mixing up a nice color green for me, and was a lot of fun to talk to, as we discussed all manner of scientific thought, clearly geared towards our eventual plan to take over the world. Even though we only met for the first time 2 weeks ago.
That being said, ya’ll should drop by for a cut! The owner has good taste too, CLEARLY, as he showed me a pic of himself when he was my age, sporting my exact hairdo, and dyed green. I must also confess now, and I aint afraid to say it, I got myself a little crush on the gal who colored my hair 🙂 Me think it a good place for a punk organist to tend to her style…
By the way, the cowboy boots as their featured decor here, belong to an interesting old friend from college who I had lost touch with, and found out today, that he is a regular customer of theirs! Quite crazy!

Love it.
